It is sure that Indian cricket team will play against Sri Lanka in the final match of Idea Cup 2010 in Bangladesh. They already ensured their position in the final round. But today’s victory against Sri Lanka by 8 wickets helped them to be equal with Sri Lanka. Both teams have been defeated only one match. Host team Bangladesh could not make any upset against any team. Now, they have only one match left to go against India. I have to admit that Bangladesh made chasing score in each of their games but it was bowling department who could not make support the home team.
The FIFA World Cup Trophy is made of solid gold and malachite. It is made by the Italian sculptor Silvio
Gazzaniga. He described his creation in these words: "The lines spring out from the base, rising in spirals, stretching out to receive the world. From the remarkable dynamic tensions of the compact body of the sculpture rise the figures of two athletes at the stirring moment of victory". The trophy is 36 cm high, made of solid 18-carat gold and weighs 4,970 grams. The base contains two layers of semi-precious malachite and has room for 17 small plaques bearing the name of the winners - space enough for the World Champions up to the year 2038. The current FIFA World Cup Trophy cannot be won outright, as the regulations state that it shall remain FIFA's own possession. The World Cup winners retain it until the next tournament and are awarded a gold-plated replica.
Milan coach Leonardo is eager to clash with Manchester United in the Champions League after Friday's draw, but insists there is still plenty of time to work on the game.
Leonardo is aware of the difficulties involved in playing the 2008 winners, but believes his men have what it takes to do the damage.
"Manchester United are a great side with a big tradition," Leonardo told the press at Milanello.
Decided to bat first was perhaps a wrong decision for Sri Lankan cricket team. They won the toss and it was their great opportunity for them to choose their luck. If you saw the previous games then you should have seen that the team who came to bat in the second innings won the matches and it has become a tradition at Shere Bangla National Stadium. However, they could not play their full innings. Indian bowlers dominated the match from first to last. Sri Lanka got all out for 213 in their 46.1 overs. Indian bowlers reduced their opponent team’s innings with 23 balls remaining to play.
